Abstract

This article presents the concept of "living Thomism" as developed by Jacques Maritain in the 1920s to define his own intellectual project. This concept must be understood in light of the idea of philosophia perennis. This suggests an intention to position oneself in the ongoing line of Thomist commentators, while advancing that tradition by integrating new ideas and addressing contemporary cultural challenges from an apostolic viewpoint.
